Catch-up

I haven’t had much time lately to blog anything. Last week we set up a new office in Brussels. Since there’s a seven hour time difference I ended up working 22 hours on monday and a teammate worked something crazy like 30+ hours.

Next week I’ll be in training all week then next Saturday I’m off to London for a month, after-which I hope to head straight to Iran for 11 days.

Since I’ll be out of the country for 6 weeks I decided to putz around town with my daughter.

I took her out for tapas tonight. She enjoyed it, surprisingly even the spicy stuff! She was a little confused by the small portions at first. At one point she asked “when do we get dinner?”.

For desert she had a piece of flour-less chocolate cake and I (foolishly) asked for an Irish coffee. I’ll never learn. Once you’ve had one of Marie’s you’re completely ruined for any other.

Not a bad day all in all — we got our hair cut, went to Build-a-Bear to spend birthday money, had italian for lunch (pasta is her favorite food in the whole wide world after all!) then tapas for dinner. We were going to go for sushi but she’s had Japanese before and as much as I love sushi, it’s hard to find a good sushi bar that’s affordable in Chicago.

I also picked up a polarizing filter for my new lens and I have to say that outfitting a wide-angle lens with filters can get pricey! I seem to recall my mother telling me years and years ago that photography was an expensive hobby. That might even have been at a garage sale where she was selling my fathers old film-developing equipment. DOH!

I haven’t had time to get any new pictures. But you can bet I’ll have a new album in a couple of weeks, loaded with shots from London. I’m pretty stoked about going, even if it is for work!
