Trains trains, and more trains

I took a quick jaunt over to our office in Brussels yesterday on the Eurostar; a high speed commuter train that connects London with Belgium through a tunnel under the english channel.

To get to the Eurostar I had to take two different Underground trains from my hotel. Fortunately the subway system in London is so efficient I was able to get to the train station in 30 minutes. Then it was a 3 hour train ride to Brussels and like the trains between DC and New York I had a power outlet available and if I had a broadband access card I could have surfed the ‘Net most of the trip (you’re only under the channel for about 20 minutes).

The European countryside is very beautiful. It’s very green, even this time of year and there are plenty of sheep farms to make the whole cliche complete.

I tried to work as quickly as possible so I could have time to wander Brussels a bit and get some good pictures but unfortunately I only squeezed about an hour; time enough to pick up some chocolates to take home as gifts and sit for a quick Belgian beer.

The next language I want to learn is French I think. Its such a beautiful language.

Most of the pictures I took were on film so we’ll have to wait and see how they turned out. Stay tuned.
