It is amusing and somewhat frustrating how journalistic places are dubbing new terms for things. Perhaps it's me and I'm getting old! :) (I still refuse to use "evil twin" and instead use "rogue APs..."). I also like wormbot better, but either way it really makes me think of an RPG game monster to attack!

[...] Is it a bot or a worm? Neither, its a BOTWORM! This is the first I’ve heard someone mash bot and worm together and dub it ‘botworm.’ Computerworld.com dubbed the latest variant of Rinbot a botworm because a worm propagates a bot payload. Nothing new here except (I think) the term botworm. See Andrew Hay and Daniel Cid's tutorial on Enterprise Log Analysis with Q1 Labs QRadar and OSSEC at the iTrust and PST Conferences on Privacy, Trust Management and Security in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Email andrewsmhay [at] gmail.com for more information. [...]
