Interesting demographics
With word of the Yahoo! IM bug circulating, I decided to take a look at what our exposure is.
As it turns out, a majority of the Yahoo! IM users are on the left coast.

| 4 in Chicago | ~300 total users |
| 1 in New York | ~400 total users |
| 0 in DC | ~100 total users |
| 0 in Europe | ~150 total users |
| 0 in Shanghai | ~20 total users |
Interesting numbers.
And also good to note, as of yesterday, Yahoo! was still providing 8.1 as a download so it might behoove you to block access to the download page for now until a patch is released. I’ve also downloaded the POC code (html) and initial testing indicates that disabling the ActiveX controls, as recommended by the ISC may not work.
I’m doing more testing and I’ll update shortly.
