More on virtualization

I know I’m late to the virtualization game but I still have to blog about how impressed I am with it.

I recently got a new Intel-based mac with a Core 2 Duo processor, 3 GB RAM and a 200 GB hard drive and a copy of Parallels software. Parallels is VMWare for a Mac.

I’ve already built and replicated an XP workstation image; the original without IE7 and the replica with IE7. Now I can fire up the WinXP-IE7 image and test internal apps and sites with IE7 ’till I’m blue in the face and not worry that its breaking my stuff (which it does). (more…)

How did I survive without virtualization!?

Picture 1.pngI’ve been playing with my new laptop from work; a MacBook Pro with an Intel Core 2 Duo and 3 GB RAM and 200 GB real estate.

I purchased Parallels and have been setting up test virtual machines. I can’t believe I wasn’t playing with virtualization sooner. Now I can use metasloit to attack virtual machines instead of my cube-mate’s computer. He’ll be happy to hear that, just as soon as he gets over the fact that his new mac was DOA, sorry dude.

iTunes Update

Mac hacked in 30 minutes (big whup)

I received an email from a colleague at work, flaunting an article about a hack-my-mac contest that was over in 30 minutes. After some careful reading I’ve come to the astute conclusion; big whup. (more…)
